Seven wounded in shooting at flea market in Houston


(Reuters) – A gunman opened hearth at a flea market in Houston on Sunday, wounding seven folks in an space identified for its Hispanic group, with a suspect being taken into custody at the scene.

“No one is critically wounded,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated, including that the victims have been being taken to hospitals and that some accidents might have been a results of a bullet ricochet.

“We believe at this point those are all minor, superficial type of wounds”, Gonzalez stated. “A male is detained at the scene.”

The shooting occurred because the Sunday market was going down in the busy space.

“This evening there was a live dance going on here at this location. A lot people including children were inside the location”, the Harris County Sheriff stated in a briefing.

The investigation was occurring and there was no instant info on the motive of the shooter, in accordance with the sheriff, who stated the shooting occurred at round 7:00 p.m.

A witness had reported seeing any person with a gun in the realm the place weapons aren’t allowed, the sheriff stated.

“It is a miracle nobody else was seriously hurt, especially the children,” he stated.
