Knicks Trade Kristaps Porzingis to the Mavericks for Dennis Smith Jr.


The Knicks have agreed to commerce Kristaps Porzingis, the largest star on a chronically failing crew, to the Dallas Mavericks.

As a part of the deal, Dallas agreed to tackle the contracts of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee. The Knicks will obtain Dennis Smith Jr., the prized second-year guard, from Dallas and future first-round draft compensation, in addition to the expiring contracts of DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews.

The Knicks and Mavericks introduced the commerce Thursday.

The Knicks, by together with the contracts of Hardaway and Lee, will clear the requisite salary-cap house this summer time to pursue two most contract free brokers, whereas Dallas shall be in a position to pair Porzingis — who’s scheduled to grow to be a restricted free agent in July — with its star rookie Luka Doncic.
